Gardening in Canada's High Desert

In 2015 while still attending college, we craved adventure.

Anything. I'm not exactly sure how we became interested in organic gardening, or even heard about work-exchange... but there was one thing we knew and that was that we needed to do something bold and travel out of the country.

 

From June-July 2015, we packed up the essentials and high-tailed on a plane to Penticton, British Columbia, Canada to live life as Workawayers with a lovely family nestled in the vineyards of wine country. This is where the seed for our dream of having our own homestead was planted, while laying on the hammock looking at the beautiful gardens we were in charge of, while walking the goose named Verruca around the rows of vegetables with us.
